- Body Satisfaction and Disordered Eating Among Black Men Collegiate Athletes: What Are the Roles of Resilience, Self-Compassion, and Social Support?
以黑人男性运动员为样本,补充该群体饮食失调心理社会资源研究的空白。
Athletes feel pressure to conform to body ideals (e.g., lean/muscular) that can contribute to decreased body satisfaction (BS) and increased disordered eating (DE; e.g., restriction). DE research with Black men athletes, especially how psychosocial resources (e.g., self-compassion [SC]) may relate to reduced risk, has been limited. Therefore, we sought to close this gap. Among 373 Black men collegiate athletes, we documented BS and DE prevalence and determined the relationships among psychosocial resources (i.e., SC, social support [SS], and resilience) and BS and DE. Across five BS dimensions (e.g., weight and thinness), 61% to 71% reported being satisfied; prevalence was highest for body muscularity, though thinness, size/shape, and weight were the strongest predictors of DE. Further, higher levels of SC, SS, and resilience related significantly to BS. Only SC, SS, and BS had direct relationships to lower DE, though all resources related indirectly through athletes’ BS. Black men athletes’ BS is not uniform, though enhancing their self-compassion, support, and resilience may help them feel more satisfied overall and, ultimately, relate to food and eating in healthier ways.

- Feeling Stressed, But Giving Back: Using Black Racial Identity Profiles to Examine Differences in Race-Related Stress and Civic Engagement
用潜在剖面分析区分种族身份类型,揭示压力与公民参与的不同组合。
Race-related stress and civic engagement have been notable reactions in the Black American community in response to racial oppression. However, there is a dearth of research examining the potential impacts of racial identity on race-related stress and civic engagement. To address this, we used latent profile analyses to uncover distinct typologies and examine three racial identity profiles (Nationalist, Multiculturalist, and Undifferentiated) and four race-related stress behavior based (perseverative cognition, secondary appraisal, anticipatory race-related stress, and bodily alarm response) and civic engagement outcomes in a sample of Black young adults ( N = 232). Results showed that the group that identified the most with their racial identity (Nationalist) largely had higher levels of race-related stress and greater civic engagement compared to those with an Undifferentiated or Multiculturalist profile. Implications for racial identity interventions and civic engagement are discussed.

- “He Came Out, and He Did This”: Hope Among Formerly Incarcerated Black Men
将希望置于出狱后重新融入的语境,提供优势视角的定性证据。
Hope is central to the development of a strengths-based approach to understanding the lived experiences of formerly incarcerated Black men, given that the disproportionate and negative impact of the criminal legal system appears to overshadow the possibilities during reentry. Through qualitative interviews, we explored formerly incarcerated Black men’s conceptualization of hope using an abductive approach and thematic analysis. Moving between Snyder’s positive psychology model of hope and the psychology of radical hope framework in the 16 interviews, we identified three main themes and seven sub-themes. The three main themes were consistent with Snyder’s conceptualization of hope ( Goals , Self-Determination Processes , and Pathways ), three of the seven sub-themes were similar to aspects in Mosley et al.’s psychology of radical hope framework ( A Better Collective Future , Faith , and Meaning & Purpose ), and four sub-themes describe new pathways to hope and extend both the traditional and radical hope frameworks ( Awakening/Epiphany/Encounter , Community/Social Support , Personal Growth , and HEAL-th ). Limitations of these findings are discussed and implications for future research and practice are discussed.

- “By Helping Others, I Help Me”: Examining the Impact of the Sawubona Healing Circle—A Qualitative Study
以参与者自述评估疗愈圈对种族歧视影响的实际缓解作用。
Ongoing anti-Black racism impacts daily life for many Black people across the globe. The Association of Black Psychologists developed the Sawubona Healing Circles (SHCs) for Black people to have a space to process and heal from anti-Black racism. The objective of this qualitative study was to understand the impact of the SHCs on attendees. Ten adults who self-identified as Black completed qualitative interviews on their experiences participating in the SHCs; nine were retained for analysis (age range: 19-65 years; six cisgender women; two cisgender men, and one nonbinary person). The data were analyzed using a narrative phenomenological approach with a racially diverse research team. Emerging themes included: (a) Affirmation Through Cultural Grounding, (b) Reimagining/Reawakening a Pan-African Kinship, (c) Freedom through Self-Definition/Recognition, and (d) Collective Responsibility/Consciousness. The findings reiterate the need for easily accessible spaces for Black people across the diaspora to address the impact of anti-Black racism.

- From Biology to Belonging: A Translational Framework for Understanding and Addressing Loneliness
整合生物、认知与社会层面,提出理解孤独的统一转化框架。
Loneliness is increasingly recognized as a multidimensional psychological phenomenon with significant implications for mental, physical, and social wellbeing. Although research across psychology, neuroscience, sociology, and public health has grown rapidly, current theoretical approaches remain fragmented, often emphasizing only one level of analysis—biological, cognitive, sociocultural, developmental, or existential. This article aims to synthesize these disparate literatures to propose a unified Translational Framework of Loneliness (TFL), integrating evolutionary, affective, neurobiological, cultural, and relational processes. Evidence is reviewed demonstrating that loneliness is associated with heightened threat sensitivity, altered neuroendocrine and immune functioning, cognitive biases, disrupted socioemotional memory, and increased allostatic load. Cultures with different norms surrounding embeddedness, autonomy, and relational obligation shape both the experience and meaning of loneliness. Loneliness also varies across the lifespan, with notable spikes in adolescence and emerging adulthood, and unique existential expressions in later life. The TFL model provides a translational structure linking mechanisms to interventions, including psychological, social, cultural, and community-level strategies shown to reduce loneliness. Implications for interdisciplinary research, public mental health, social policy, and future intervention science are discussed.

- Who Engages in Duty Sex?—Infidelity Concerns and Mate Value Discrepancies
从进化与伴侣价值差异角度解释义务性性行为的动机机制。
Sexual behavior is motivated by more than just pleasure or reproduction. “Duty Sex” refers to sexual activity motivated by obligation and a desire to maintain one's romantic relationship. From an evolutionary perspective, such behavior can be understood as a mate retention tactic, functioning to preserve romantic relationships when they are threatened. We therefore tested whether perceived probability of partner infidelity, mate value discrepancy, and neuroticism predicted Duty Sex engagement in 252 participants. Duty Sex frequency did not differ by sex. In pooled analyses, higher perceived probability of partner infidelity, lower mate value relative to one's partner, higher neuroticism, and being in a committed rather than casual relationship were associated with greater Duty Sex engagement, but relationship length was not. In sex-stratified analyses, perceived probability of partner infidelity and neuroticism were associated with greater Duty Sex in both women and men, whereas lower relative mate value was associated with greater Duty Sex in women only. However, tests comparing the strength of each association between women and men found no significant sex differences. Our findings are consistent with evolutionary models of mate retention, and provide insight into how cues of relationship threat may motivate sexual behavior.

- Mapping the Intellectual Landscape of Coaching Psychology: An Interdisciplinary Systematic Literature Review and Bibliometric Analysis
用三种计量学方法检视教练心理学的理论连贯性与证据累积状况。
Coaching psychology occupies a distinctively interdisciplinary position in contemporary applied psychology, drawing theoretical and methodological resources from cognitive-behavioural psychology, positive psychology, organisational science, sport science, health promotion, and adult education. Despite rapid growth, sustained questions persist about the domain’s intellectual coherence, theoretical foundations, and cumulative evidence base. The present study integrates a systematic literature review with three bibliometric techniques (citation analysis, bibliographic coupling, co-word analysis) and a qualitative content analysis to map the intellectual landscape of coaching psychology research. Searches conducted in Web of Science and Scopus yielded a final corpus of 109 peer-reviewed articles (2005–2024), analysed using VOSviewer software. Results reveal a maturing but fragmented domain characterised by strong growth in scholarly output, theoretical plurality spanning cognitive-behavioural, positive psychology, self-determination, sport psychology traditions, and methodological pluralism. Four research clusters were identified: evidence-based coaching outcomes, positive psychology applications, executive coaching and leadership development, and sport and performance coaching psychology. Persistent gaps include limited cross-cultural generalisability, insufficient mechanistic research, and underdeveloped interdisciplinary integration. These findings provide an empirically grounded mapping of coaching psychology’s scholarly landscape, advance understanding of its interdisciplinary character, and offer a targeted research agenda for strengthening theoretical coherence and cumulative knowledge within and across the discipline’s constituent sub-domains.

- Work Recovery in Military Contexts: An Integrative Review of Dynamic Processes, Boundary Conditions, and Multilevel Applications
区分现役、预备役、退伍与军属,梳理军事情境下恢复的边界条件。
Work recovery is increasingly important in occupations where irregular schedules, sustained vigilance, and constrained boundaries limit opportunities to restore depleted resources. This critical integrative review examines recovery processes in military contexts while distinguishing currently serving personnel, deployed personnel, reserve-component members, veterans, and military families. Drawing on the Effort-Recovery Model, Conservation of Resources theory, the Stressor-Detachment Model, and the DRAMMA framework, the review identifies service status, mission phase, leadership, unit climate, and relational resources as key boundary conditions. It argues that military settings are heterogeneous and that recovery strategies must be matched to operational feasibility: micro-recovery and protected off-watch periods may be central during deployment, whereas mastery, meaning, and affiliation may become more salient during home station service and transition to civilian life. The review also clarifies the detachment paradox by distinguishing flexible, restorative disengagement from trauma-related emotional numbing. Practical applications are organized across service-member, leader, and organizational levels, including recovery-supportive scheduling, bounded autonomy, sleep protection, decompression, and family-centered support. Future research should validate DRAMMA across military populations, use intensive longitudinal designs, and compare individual interventions with leader- and organization-level changes.

- Motivation-Integrated Needs Theory (MINT): A Theory of the Integrated Development of Human Needs and Motivations
把分散的需求理论整合为三层结构,为动机研究提供统一框架。
This article introduces the Motivation-Integrated Needs Theory (MINT). MINT unifies existing theories into a three-level structure that distinguishes (a) core needs—universal psychological needs for security, acceptance, initiative, competence, and meaning which serve as the foundation of motivations; (b) basic motivations such as power, belonging, and achievement; and (c) contextual motivations—domain- and role-specific patterns of striving in everyday life that change throughout the lifespan and shape people’s goals and behaviors. Grounded in developmental theory, MINT explains how early-formed needs and their calibration shape motivation across childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. The theory specifies how perceived satisfaction of core needs is evaluated through a standards architecture involving current, expected, ideal-real, and fantasy ideal levels of need satisfaction, and how discrepancies among these levels generate motivational intensity and shape the choice of motivational routes. By specifying the underlying structure that connects needs and motivations, MINT helps explain why people are motivated in some contexts and not in others, why they lose motivation, and why they behave differently across situations.
