Reliability and validity testing of the Family-of-Origin Sexual Objectification Scale in Chinese female college students

Objective: To examine the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of the Family Sexual Objectification Scale in Chinese female college students. Methods: The Chinese version of the Family Sexual Objectification Scale was administered to 1,414 female college students, with the Interpersonal Sexual Objectification Scale (ISOS), the Self-Objectification Beliefs and Behaviors Scale (SOBBS), the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), the Body Shame Scale (BSS), and the Eating Attitudes Test-19 (EAT-19) used as criterion measures. After 4 weeks, 268 of the participants were retested.
