Analysis of the intermediary effect of traumatic experiences during middle school years and sleep quality on mental health symptoms

Objective: To explore the mediating role of mental health symptoms between traumatic experiences during adolescence and sleep quality in middle school students. This research aims to provide new insights for schools and families in preventing and addressing sleep problems among middle school students through health education approaches. Methods: From September to December 2023, a multi-stage sampling method was used to select some middle school students from Acheng District, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, for investigation. Pearson correlation analysis was employed to examine the relationships between various variables. The Bootstrap method with bias correction was used to analyze the mediating effect of mental health symptoms on the relationship between traumatic experiences during adolescence and sleep quality in middle school students.
